I am pleased to be here at BACA as a member of the clinical team. I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA, where I grew up in the suburbs just outside the city in an area of minimal diversity. My family was one of only a handful who were Jewish in our community. We traveled to the city frequently to be close to extended family and friends and to celebrate holidays and feel more connected within our vibrant heritage. As a child I loved to dance. Following High School I moved to California with my family to train in Classical Ballet. I attended San Jose State University where I received a BA in Theatre Arts/Dance. After a brief career in dance, I felt drawn to yet another method of expression and exploration of thoughts and feelings so I returned to school to complete a second baccalaureate in Psychology and an MS Degree in Clinical Psychology from San Jose State University.

Prior to joining BACA I worked at Chamberlain’s Mental Health Services in Gilroy where I worked with children ages 3-18 and their families in the Day Treatment Intensive Program. In that program, I worked closely with children who have severe emotional and behavioral problems. It was during this time that I began to develop a creative approach that draws from play and art therapy as the vehicle to shape healing, understanding, and simply, being. Helping a child to see the value inside them is one of the most worthwhile things I can do.

In my free time I can be found online discussing today’s relevant issues, sharing horses and riding with my school-aged daughter, taking Pilates class, and using my skills as a therapist working on Eco Justice issues.
