About Leah Sparrowe:
Growing up in San Jose as an only child, I navigated significant personal challenges with depression and anxiety. This early experience, marked by a lack of understanding and support, fueled a profound commitment: to be the compassionate presence for others that I wished I’d had. This personal vow, coupled with a lifelong curiosity about human behavior, propelled me into a dedicated career in mental health.
For over a decade, I’ve gained diverse experience across various mental health settings, including child protective services, homeless shelters, rehabilitation centers, and school wellness programs, as well as working as a behavioral specialist with children with special needs, and within both private and community mental health clinics. This breadth of experience has solidified my empathetic and compassionate approach.
As a therapist, I am passionate about creating a safe space for children and parents to feel truly heard. My goal is to support them on their journey toward self-awareness and understanding of their relationships. I believe in the power of empathy, compassion, and a good sense of humor to navigate life’s complexities, helping clients explore their authentic selves without taking life too seriously. Outside of my practice, I cherish time with my loved ones, enjoying activities like hiking, exploring the ocean, attending concerts and live theater, visiting museums, and spending time with my dog, Poppy.
