I graduated from CSU Bakersfield with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Theatre in 2008 and continued there to complete an MS in Counseling Psychology in 2012. Since that time my work has encompassed working with youth and families in various settings, largely focusing on trauma work at Willow Rock Center Adolescent Psychiatric Health Facility in San Leandro. It was there I began to explore the possibilities of applying my background in theatre and overall love of the arts with Expressive Arts techniques/interventions to help youth and their families heal from negative past experiences and dynamics that no longer work. In addition, I gained experience working with queer adults and transitional age youth at Queer LifeSpace in SF and had the opportunity to work as a youth bereavement counselor at Hospice by the Bay, offering support for youth and their families who have experienced grief and loss.

Whether it be in group, family, or individual counseling I believe that therapy is merely an avenue for clients to remember the strengths they already have within. I thrive in creating a safe and creative space for others to heal and grow and am excited to be a part of such a collaborative team at BACA that encompasses these same ideals.

When I’m not working you can find me enjoying simple moments life has to offer like reading a comic book, playing the piano/guitar, riding my longboard, or spending time with family and friends.
