About Julianna Christofi:

Hi there! My name is Julianna (she/her/ella), and I’m currently completing my doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at Palo Alto University. With roots in both psychology and social work, I’m committed to advancing mental health equity and trauma-informed care for underserved communities. My clinical background spans crisis stabilization and trauma-informed care, including work with youth involved in the juvenile justice and child welfare systems, as well as therapy at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland. My experience also includes bilingual developmental and autism assessments with children and therapy for Spanish-speaking clients and families. I’ve had the chance to work across school, community, hospital, home visit, and clinical office settings, which has given me a broad lens on how to show up for people wherever they are.

When it comes to therapy, I believe in meeting you where you’re at, using your own strengths and values to support your growth. I draw from evidence-based, culturally responsive approaches like CBT, DBT, and ACT, along with play/art therapy and body-based, somatic techniques — depending on what fits you best. I recognize families are complex, and I integrate the role that culture, identity, and the systems around us play in shaping our needs and well-being, especially for folks navigating life as immigrants, first-generation, bicultural, or LGBTQ+ individuals.

Outside of the clinic, I enjoy yoga, hiking, spending time in nature, attending live music shows, and watching TV with my small, fluffy dog, Mochi.
