Judy Sylvia
Judy brings 20 years of experience in behavioral health leadership, operations, and program development to her role as CEO of BACA. She began her behavioral health career as an Admissions Director and quickly advanced to executive leadership positions in business development, admissions, branding, and digital marketing.
Throughout her career, Judy has developed an unwavering commitment to helping people access mental health care. In previous roles, she successfully directed all aspects of brand awareness, reputation management, business development partnerships, admissions, community outreach, digital marketing, and managed care contracting. This range of experience has given her a unique perspective on the patient journey and the opportunity to develop expertise in creating a quality patient experience when accessing and receiving treatment for mental health concerns.
At BACA, Judy’s mission is to use her decades of experience to support families in the Bay Area with the highest quality mental health treatment available. In addition to holding her staff to the highest level of clinical excellence – with mentorship and continuing education programs offered to all physicians, therapists, and counselors – she knows something other leaders miss: the treatment experience begins upon first contact with the treatment center, whether through email or over the phone, and doesn’t end at the end of a formal treatment program.
Judy understands behavioral health treatment inside and out: she has a special ability to turn a complex process like finding mental health treatment into a friendly, transparent, and educational experience. She knows it can feel overwhelming, daunting, and frustrating. It’s easy for families and patients to get discouraged. Interacting with admissions personnel and trying to understand levels of care options, insurance coverage, personal costs, and the details about treatment itself is hard enough when you’re thinking objectively, and more difficult when you’re worried about yourself or your family member. She believes everyone needs to understand their options and is committed to helping those who contact BACA successfully navigate the process of finding the treatment they need.
