Hi there! I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has worked in the mental health field for over 14 years and is excited to be part of the BACA team. I lived in the Bay Area for the majority of my life but relocated to the Sacramento area the same time I started with BACA.

Prior to joining BACA, I worked for the County of Santa Clara in an outpatient clinic serving predominantly Spanish-speaking families and children from ages 0 through 18. I also had the opportunity to work as a clinician for the County of Santa Clara Mobile Crisis Response Team to meet adults in the community experiencing severe mental health symptoms, assess safety risks, and help connect them and those concerned about them to resources and support. Prior to the county, I held multiple roles doing both community-based and clinic-based work at a county-contracted non-profit agency. Getting to experience in-the-moment crises and physically be in homes, schools, residential facilities, and other personal settings to clients throughout my time in the field has been immensely enriching and helped broaden my clinical framework.

I consider it a definite honor to hear and hold stories of what people have been through, what they’re struggling with, and what their desires are for their life. I appreciate exploring issues of culture and considering how systemic injustices may be playing a role in current challenges. I like to work collaboratively with clients and to help highlight and build strengths. While I use a variety of evidence-based modalities and techniques (CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, DBT, STEP Parenting, etc.) to help facilitate change, I also do my best to tailor work to each individual and family’s needs. I especially enjoy helping people heal from trauma and am certified in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Having recently completed a year-long academy focused on infant and early childhood mental health, I also enjoy applying concepts of early attachment when exploring current relational functioning. No matter what we may be working on together, I look forward to providing safety and deep care. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, visiting local coffee shops, cooking, knitting, biking, and spending quality time with my family and friends.
