Hi there! My name is Johnny and I was born and raised in the Bay Area. Prior to joining BACA, I have worked with children and transitional age youth in an outpatient, residential, and school-based setting. I had the privilege in supporting vulnerable communities and witness their strength, resiliency, and support they hold for one another.
When it comes to change, I believe in meeting where you are at while utilizing your strengths, values, and identity in empowering yourself and supporting your needs and growth. I utilize evidenced-based interventions and techniques (i.e. CBT, DBT, etc) in addition to creative modalities such as play and art based on the individual. When working with children, individuals, and families, I like to consider the importance of culture and systemic factors that can impact our needs and overall well-being.
Outside my work as a therapist, I like to go on hikes and enjoy nature, connecting with friends and family, and looking at a bunch of funny videos and memes.
