Originally from the Midwest, I earned my B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of Kansas followed by a post-baccalaureate position at the Yale Child Study Center in the Autism Center. I received my PhD in Psychology from the University of Minnesota in 2024, where I provided assessment and therapy for individuals experiencing psychosis symptoms. My doctoral research used advanced analytics and machine learning to inform treatment for adolescent suicidal ideation, a data-driven background that continues to inform my precision-based approach to patient care.

I completed my clinical internship at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital, gaining extensive experience with children, adolescents, and adults in inpatient and intensive outpatient (IOP) settings. Following this, I completed my postdoctoral training at SDSU’s CIPHER center, where I remain an affiliate. During my time there, I took on a leadership role supervising teams of assessors and peer navigators for QueerCare, a suicide prevention program for LGBTQ+ youth across Southern California.

As a therapist, I take an integrative, strengths-based approach. I am trained in evidence-based applications of CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, DBT, IPT, ERP, and psychodynamic therapies. I work with a wide range of concerns, including mood and anxiety disorders, OCD, and maladaptive personality traits. My approach relies on identifying a patient’s unique strengths, values and goals and leveraging evidence-based strategies to help them build a life that aligns with what matters most to them.

Outside of the clinic, I enjoy hiking, biking, playing video games, and spending time with my very spoiled cat. I also remain active in the research community, collaborating with colleagues at the University of Minnesota and San Diego State on the integration of technology in mental health care and the refinement of affirming care for LGBTQIA+ populations.
