BACA stands in solidarity with the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities and the fight against racism and hate crimes. We are saddened and outraged by past atrocities faced by these communities and the rise of anti-Asian hate crimes resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The recent horrific events in Atlanta and the Bay Area are heartbreaking and a reminder of the dire need in this country to take serious steps to dismantle its long history of racism and oppression. BACA firmly denounces bigotry and xenophobic sentiments and remains fully committed to being an ally to not only our AAPI staff and patients, but the AAPI community at large. It is our continued mission to advocate for a better world where equality and justice for all people is realized.
