About Abbey Wright:

Hello! My name is Abbey and I’m originally from the Boston area, though I’ve been in California for 15 years. I’ve always been interested in other people and their stories, which drew me to study psychology as an undergraduate. During that time I had the opportunity to work with teenagers with socio-emotional IEP goals in a summer program setting. I also volunteered with an after-school performing arts program, channeling my own interest in dance and movement.

I took a 16 year detour to have a career in tech, working for Google in Cambridge and San Francisco. I decided to pursue graduate school, while working full-time, to move to a career in mental health that more closely aligns with my personal values. I completed my practicum training at Piedmont High School/Middle School Wellness Center supporting teens in their mental health needs.

I’ve benefited greatly from a relationship with my own therapist. I am honored to have the opportunity to play a role in your mental health journey, in whatever capacity that may be. I take a strengths-based approach and believe in meeting you where you are along that path.

In my free time I like to cook and bake, read literary fiction and indulge in reality tv. I try to spend as much time as possible with my family and dog, Louie, outdoors in the beautiful Bay Area.
