I grew up in San Jose as an only child. I was raised by my father while my mother lived in Los Angeles. I spent my formative years struggling with depression and anxiety though did not receive the support I truly needed to feel understood and accepted as my authentic self. I vowed to myself that I would be the person I needed when I was a child for the children who come into my life. I have been curious as to why people are the way that we are since I was seventeen years old, and it turned into a full-time career in the mental health field. For the past 10 years, I have worked various areas of the mental health field including child protective services, homeless shelter, rehabilitation center, behavioral specialist with children with special needs, school Wellness Center, private clinic and community mental health. I am a deeply empathetic and compassionate person with a good sense of humor, which I bring into my sessions to show that we can’t take ourselves or life too seriously. I am very passionate about mental health and how society impacts the way we feel about ourselves on top of our peers and loved ones. As a therapist I want to hold space for children and parents to feel heard and provide support while they are on their journey in building their awareness with themselves and others. In my free time I love spending time with my parents, friends, and family. I love hiking, going to the ocean, exercising, attending concerts, seeing live theater, visiting museums, going to the movies, and spending time with my dog Poppy.
