I am originally from the east coast, and I have a BFA in theatre from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. I became more interested in music after graduating, and took up the guitar to write, record, and perform as a singer-songwriter in New York. I was extremely grateful to have found the Expressive Arts Therapy program at the California Institute of Integral Studies, in which I was able to utilize my artistic abilities and develop them therapeutically. I find my position as a therapist to be a deeply humbling one. I am grateful to be a part of the healing process of children and their families and witness the growth and relief that can develop through a safe and meaningful therapeutic relationship. Through compassion and understanding, and sometimes a gentle push, I attempt to create a safe space to explore challenges and discover new choices. I value humor as an important part of healing, and as an Expressive Arts Therapist, I specialize in utilizing the arts as a therapeutic tool, as well as play therapy specifically with children.

After graduating from CIIS in 2011, I became the school therapist at Malcolm X Elementary School. There, I had the opportunity to work with children, their families, and the school system in an integrative way.

I’ve been at BACA since August 2017, and continue to be grateful for the work I am fortunate to do here. I was the Lead Therapist for the Young Adult IOP for 4.5 years and recently transitioned out of that role to the Site Director at Berkeley. I now get the opportunity to provide support not to only therapy patients, but to clinicians and the Berkeley site as a whole!
