Our teen PHP is designed to meet the unique needs of teens 11-17 with acute mental health issues that prevent them from meeting basic daily expectations and responsibilities at school, with family, with friends, at work, and in the community.
We’re committed to providing the best treatment available for children, teens, and adults with mental health and behavioral disorders. Our clinical team includes well-trained psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, licensed marriage and family therapists, and pre-licensed clinicians. We lead the way in California by providing an evidence-based, clinician-tested, fully integrated system of support and care.
Our transitional care system allows BACA patients to step up or down through levels of care based on their individual level of need, stability, and treatment progress. We help the whole family through the entire treatment process, and ensure everyone – parents, siblings, other caregivers – has the support they need to restore balance to the home.
We help teens with a range of mental health issues, including but not limited to:
Our experienced, creative, and dedicated clinicians provide results-oriented, data-driven, evidence-based support tailored to meet the needs of each individual.
Therapeutic modalities include, but are not limited to:
During treatment, we collaborate with teens and their families to learn what works best for them, based on their personality, progress, and preferences.
Each plan is different, and each plan is likely to change over time, because each teen is different, and each teen grows and changes while they’re at BACA.
We offer an organized, gradual stepdown service that’s unlike most teen PHPs. This carefully deigned process helps teens transition from immersive therapy through appropriate levels of care and back to the routine of daily life.
We understand the importance of consistent and uninterrupted support and care in creating sustained healing and growth.
Our stepdown services ensure our patients don’t fall through the cracks when moving from one level of care to another. To bridge the gap, we focus on stability and wellbeing as our teens transition from PHP to our less immersive levels of care. PHP is our most immersive program, and IOP is one step down from PHP.
When stepping down through levels of care a BACA, a teen may move from PHP to IOP before moving to our less immersive – but equally therapeutic – transitional care services.
Transitional care services typically include individual sessions with our team of BACA psychiatrists and/or therapists who serve BACA alumni exclusively.
As our teens step down, we monitor their progress and quickly intervene if problems arise. We treat them at this level of care until we’re confident in their ability to transition to outside community providers.
The length of care in Transitional Outpatient services is based on individual needs, but typically lasts 60-120 days.
Exclusive psychiatry services and experienced providers mean one thing: treatment services unparalleled in child, adolescent, and young adult mental health.
Our progressive step-down process provides ongoing support and services while transitioning from intensive outpatient treatment to community providers.
All of our services are in network with most major insurance companies.
At all levels of care, our family-centered, patient-first approach includes evidence-based interventions appropriate and effective for a range of mental health and/or behavioral conditions.
We work on behalf of youth and families to create a future they envision for themselves.
We solve important problems together — for our patients, their families, and our communities.
We believe in the value of one and the power of many: together, we’re greater than the sum of our parts.
