Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for Teens in San Jose

Our teen IOP is designed to meet the unique needs of teens 11-17 with mental health issues. We help teens and families find balance, restore healthy relationships, improve communication, and build a solid foundation for future success.

High Quality Mental Health Treatment

We’re committed to providing the best treatment available for children, teens, and adults with mental health and behavioral disorders. Our clinical team includes well-trained psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, licensed marriage and family therapists, and pre-licensed clinicians. We lead the way in California by providing an evidence-based, clinician-tested, fully integrated system of support and care.

Our team of psychiatrists serve our patients exclusively.
This is unique: most psychiatrists see patients at more than one treatment center.

Our transitional care system allows BACA patients to step up or down through levels of care based on their individual level of need, stability, and treatment progress. We help the whole family through the entire treatment process, and ensure everyone – parents, siblings, other caregivers – has the support they need to restore balance to the home.

During treatment, we collaborate with teens and their families to learn what works best for them, based on their personality, progress, and preferences.

Each plan is different, and each plan is likely to change over time, because each teen is different, and each teen grows and changes while they’re at BACA.

Regardless of your circumstances, our team is here to assist. We are dedicated to identifying the most suitable mental health care options for your teenager or young adult, even if the best path lies outside our programs.

The BACA Difference: Structured Step-Down Ensures Continuity of Care

Dark Blue Corner Graphic

We offer a unique stepdown service that’s unlike a typical teen IOP.

We’ve designed a seamless, gradual transitional method to help teens transition from intensive therapy back to routine, daily life.

We understand the importance of continuous, uninterrupted care and support.

Our stepdown services bridge the gap. We prioritize the ongoing stability and wellbeing of our patients as they transition out of IOP.

Transitional services typically include regular sessions with BACA psychiatrists and/or therapists, who exclusively serve our IOP alumni.

We provide supervision and continuity of care while teens step down from a structured program. This allows us to monitor their progress and quickly intervene if things start to unravel. We treat them at this level of care until we’re confident in their ability to transition to outside community providers.

The length of care in Transitional Outpatient services is based on individual needs, but typically lasts 60-120 days.
